Natural Composite Resin Colors:

Natural teeth generally have various colors, which can be categorized into different classifications. These colors in dental composite are designated with an English letter and a number. The letters range from A to D, and the numbers range from 1 to 4. For example, the color A1. The letters represent the spectrum or tonality of the composite resin color, which ranges from white to yellow, while the numbers indicate the level of darkness or lightness of the composite resin color. As we know, the color of natural teeth comprises an infinite spectrum of colors. However, the color of each person’s teeth will have the closest resemblance to one of the mentioned codes

Composite Bleach Color Unlike natural tooth colors, which have standard codes across all brands, bleach colors are introduced with a specific code unique to each brand. Each composite brand may have two or more bleach color codes. Very bright colors, or so-called super bleach colors, are not suitable for composite application.

Some cosmetic dentists may use these composites if chosen by the patient, but super bleach composites have drawbacks including:

1. High susceptibility to discoloration, which cannot be repaired with polishing or buffing, resulting in a shorter lifespan for these composites.

2. Unnatural appearance of teeth after composite application.

3. Teeth may appear bulky, reducing smile aesthetics.
